Apart from the hard drive, which hasn't arrived yet, my custom PC is complete!

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

My roommate helped with the build because he's built one of his own. There were some irritating moments, like installing the CPU and the damn case manual that might as well have been written in Klingon, but it all turned out okay. The BIOS works well after the many hours of building.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

The case has blue LEDS around the fans which look nice. The keyboard is also nice, since it's backlit by blue LEDs.

Seagate, y u ship from Pennsylvania and not from COI?

Here's a Toyota TS010 to make this post somewhat car-related.

Nice, I'm due for an overhaul of my build from 4 yrs ago. I love the case I got back then so much that I'll keep that and just get mostly new guts (Board, Processor, RAM, Graphics, SSHDD)

Although I'm sure it turned out fine, your lack of anti-static precautions kills me inside. Especially in the winter when everything is dry.

But hard drives are still relevant! Besides, they are expensive. Maybe in the future.

Get a 250GB SSD for your OS and programs and stick your data on the HDD. Biggest performance boost you can get for the money.

Either way, that's a nice build and congrats on putting it together without anything kerploding.

It killed me too when my roommate mentioned static like halfway into the motherboard build.

Yep. I guess that'll be Windows 10 for me.

If you can afford an i7 and a GTX760, you can afford dropping $70-80 on a Crucial MX100 128GB. Install your OS on there, put your games and other stuff on the 2TB HD.

Is it scaled to your needs though? Like, do you use almost all 2TB? If not, you could go 256GB SSD for your OS/Software, and use HDD from your old puter as a separate partition for media/docs.

Reason I'm asking is because SSD is too sex.

Why just 8GB? Ram for desktop computers is very cheap.

Also, dat Core-17.

even a small one just for the OS is a HUGE upgrade. Boot times and responsiveness are majorly improved.

so much socks on carpet going on. Usually that stuff is pretty stout though. Just try to touch the case or something at least before touching components.

CPU fan is backwards. Put it on the other side of the cooler and the make sure its pointed towards the rear. Youre filling your case with hot air right now.

the fan will have two arrows on it somewhere that designates the direction it spins and the direction of airflow. You want to point it towards the back of the case from the front side of the heatsink for best cooling.

I fixed it. I'm lucky I got low-profile RAM, then.
